Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Men and women 18 years of age or older with diagnosed ESRD and prescribed regular dialysis at least once a week for the past two weeks
- Women of childbearing potential must be using contraception or have completed family and undergone sterilization
- Patients must produce a minimum of 200 ml urine in a full day urine collection on a non-dialysis day
- Able and willing to complete the entire study period (up to 266 days from enrollment)
- Able to understand study procedures, voluntarily sign informed consent, and comply with protocol requirements
You will not qualify if you...
- Women of childbearing potential not using contraception or who have not undergone sterilization
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- Patients planning to conceive within 12 months of randomization
- Patients with serum potassium levels of 6 mmol/L or higher based on the last two medical reports
- Patients producing less than 200 ml urine in 24 hours at baseline
- Patients on peritoneal dialysis
- Patients with kidney transplant or scheduled for transplant within 259 days of randomization
- Patients who have gained more than 4 kg between dialysis sessions in the past two weeks
- Known allergy to quillaja bark or similar tree bark
- Participation in another clinical trial (except COVID-19 vaccine or drug trials)
- Patients on immunosuppressive therapy for kidney transplant
- Patients who become pregnant during follow-up
- Patients experiencing severe adverse reactions to the study product
