What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the effectiveness of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation program called Revita for people with chronic lumbar spine disorders at University Hospitals Leuven. This observational study aims to understand how well the current rehabilitation and follow-up care work for patients with low back pain and spine diseases. The study is sponsored by KU Leuven and focuses on improving patient outcomes through coordinated physical, psychological, social, educational, and occupational interventions. The rehabilitation program (Revita) includes up to 36 outpatient sessions over a maximum of 6 months. These sessions combine physical treatments such as specific exercises and manual techniques with other supportive elements like psychological or occupational therapy. After completing this multidisciplinary program, patients may continue with a follow-up monodisciplinary trajectory (K15) of up to 104 sessions per year if needed. Participants will be assessed at baseline, 6 months, and 1 year to measure changes in disability using the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), pain levels, quality of life, anxiety and depression, fear-avoidance beliefs, body awareness, return to work, medication use, and overall functioning. The study involves monitoring treatment experience and the effectiveness of rehabilitation over time. Participants will engage in regular rehabilitation sessions and evaluations to track their progress throughout the study period.
