Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Clinical diagnosis of Parkinson's disease consistent with the United Kingdom Parkinson's Disease Society Brain Bank criteria
- Parkinson's disease duration longer than 5 years
- Acute levodopa motor response of 30% or greater
- Indication for subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) surgery
You will not qualify if you...
- Severe cognitive impairment
- Severe psychiatric disorders
- Acute levodopa motor response less than 30%
- Atypical parkinsonism
- Contraindications to surgery
