Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Female nurses
- Between 18 and 30 years of age
- Mechanical neck discomfort confined to the cervical or bilateral scapular regions with pain level 3-5 on VAS
- At least one trigger point in trapezius muscle
- No clinical therapy for neck pain in the preceding month
- Ready to participate in the study
You will not qualify if you...
- Recent surgery on the shoulder or neck
- Signs of myelopathy or radiculopathy
- Diagnosed Fibromyalgia syndrome or psychiatric problems
- Pregnancy
- Cervical stenosis or malignancy (cervical, breast cancer)
- Thoracic outlet syndrome
- Vestibulobasilar artery syndrome
- Whiplash injury
- Diagnosis of migraine
- Type I diabetes or cardio-respiratory systemic illness
- Congenital deformities affecting spine, shoulders, or limbs
- Osteoporosis of cervical spine or cervical myeloma
