Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Infants admitted to the NICU immediately after birth
- Gestational age of 28 weeks or older
- No identified hearing disorders
- No diagnosed developmental disabilities (e.g., Down Syndrome)
- No Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
- Medically cleared by nurse or neonatologist to participate
- Parent or legal guardian able and willing to give consent and complete the Postpartum Bonding Questionnaire (PBQ)
You will not qualify if you...
- Infants admitted to the NICU at any time other than immediately after birth
- Gestational age under 28 weeks
- Presence of identified hearing disorders
- Diagnosed developmental disabilities (e.g., Down Syndrome)
- Presence of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
- Not medically cleared by nurse or neonatologist to participate
- Parent or legal guardian unable or unwilling to give consent
