Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Diagnosed with stroke confirmed by computed tomography (CT) or MRI
  • Age between 50 and 65 years, male or female
  • Hemodynamically stable
  • Good cognitive ability to understand study requirements
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Unable to follow instructions due to sensory aphasia, blindness, dementia, or deafness
  • Have orthopedic, neurological, or chest disorders affecting trunk muscle control or causing respiratory problems such as COPD
  • Cognitive or psychiatric disorders
  • Unstable cardiovascular conditions
  • Contraindications to neuromuscular electrical stimulation, including having a cardiac pacemaker or recent acute abdominal surgery
