Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 21 years or older of any race or gender
- First-ever ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke confirmed by neuroimaging at least 6 months before enrollment
- Unilateral arm weakness with Fugl-Meyer Upper Extremity (FM-UM) scale score of 62 or less out of 64
- Measurable motor thresholds recorded from the affected first dorsal interosseous muscle
You will not qualify if you...
- History of bilateral strokes (infarcts or hematomas)
- Other neuromuscular disorders affecting upper limb motor function
- Medically uncontrolled depression or neuropsychiatric disorders affecting study participation
- Confirmed dementia or use of dementia medications such as Donepezil, Rivastigmine, Galantamine, Memantine, Aducanumab, Lecanemab, or Donanemab
- Uncontrolled hypertension with systolic blood pressure 185 mmHg or higher or diastolic blood pressure 110 mmHg or higher
- Presence of MRI or rTMS risk factors including implanted electrically or magnetically activated devices, non-fixed metallic parts, history of seizures before or after stroke, scalp lesions, bone defects, or hemicraniectomy
- Current participation in another interventional stroke recovery study
- Inability to comply with study procedures and visits
- Pregnancy
