The Effect of Patient Discharge From the Maternal and Fetal Medicine Unit With Receiving a Discharge Letter Later Using the Apollo App on Discharge Data, Safety and Patient Satisfaction - a Prospective Randomized Controlled Trial

This research aims to compare two methods of patient discharge from the maternal and fetal medicine unit, focusing on discharge data, patient satisfaction, and safety. It studies women admitted to this unit who are intended to be discharged before delivery. The trial evaluates using the Apollo mobile application, which provides discharge letters and medical information digitally, against the traditional discharge process where the patient receives a written discharge letter before leaving. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: one using the Apollo app to receive their discharge letter after leaving the hospital, and the other following the regular discharge process where patients wait until the discharge letter is completed before going home. Discharge in both groups requires approval from a senior or attending physician. Those in the app group sign a consent form explaining the process and how to contact the department if the letter is delayed. During the study, researchers will measure the time from discharge decision to actual discharge, patient satisfaction within a week after discharge, technical issues with the app, any missing information requiring medical help, and discrepancies in discharge recommendations. Participants are monitored through questionnaires and follow-up related to discharge safety and satisfaction. The study is sponsored by The Baruch Padeh Medical Center, Poriya, and lasts up to 24 hours from discharge decision for primary outcomes, with additional follow-up within one week.
