Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients with unilateral primary inguinal hernia scheduled for elective Transabdominal preperitoneal inguinal hernia repair (TAPP)
- Signed informed consent to participate
- ASA physical status I to III
- Body mass index (BMI) of 35 kg/m2 or less
You will not qualify if you...
- Inguinoscrotal hernia (hernia passing through the entrance to the scrotum)
- Previously diagnosed mental disorders
- Use of psychotropic drugs or drugs affecting adrenal cortex function (estrogens and systemic glucocorticoids)
- Language barrier
- Deviations during operation or anesthesia requiring intensive care unit transfer or conversion to open surgery
- Refusal to participate
