Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Aged between 18 and 55 years
  • Have temporomandibular joint-related complaints lasting at least 3 months
  • Temporomandibular dysfunction diagnosed by clinical and radiological evaluation by a dentist
  • Neck pain of 3 or higher on the numeric pain scale
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Cognitive problems
  • Currently using a splint
  • Used painkillers or muscle relaxants for temporomandibular dysfunction in the past week
  • Have any systemic joint or muscle disease (e.g., fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis)
  • Have serious systemic diseases
  • Have any neurological disorder (e.g., trigeminal neuralgia)
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Treated for temporomandibular joint or orofacial muscle pain in the last 3 months
  • Had surgery or trauma to the cervical region or temporomandibular joint
  • Positive vertebrobasilar artery test
