Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • 18 to 65 years old
  • ASA physical status I or II
  • Patients requiring invasive arterial blood pressure monitoring during surgery
  • Right-handed individuals
  • Normal Allen test (palm color returns to normal within 10 seconds after ulnar artery pressure release)
  • Able and willing to give informed consent
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • History of musculoskeletal, vascular, neurological, or psychiatric disorders
  • History of diabetes or other systemic diseases
  • Use of any analgesic medication within one month prior to and during the study
  • History of smoking, alcohol, or drug addiction
  • Presence of paraesthesia, scar, redness, damage, or rash in the skin area to be tested
  • Surgical area overlaps with cooling treatment or arterial puncture site
  • Female participants currently menstruating
