Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 18 to 75 years, male or female
- Blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg or higher on at least three separate office visits without blood pressure medication, or elevated 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure
- Diagnosis of primary aldosteronism based on 2016 international guidelines after stopping interfering drugs
- Cannot take spironolactone due to contraindications
- No intention for surgery or have surgical contraindications, and willing to accept drug treatment or superselective adrenal artery embolization
- Suitable adrenal artery anatomy for selective embolization based on arteriography
You will not qualify if you...
- Secondary hypertension from other causes
- Pregnant women or those planning pregnancy within one year
- Glomerular filtration rate below 45 ml/min/1.73m²
- History of severe allergy to contrast agents
- High potassium levels (hyperkalemia)
- Serious other diseases or life expectancy under 12 months preventing embolization treatment
- Adrenal lesions larger than 2 cm in diameter
- History of heart attack, fainting, brain hemorrhage, or stroke within 3 months before consent
- Participation in other clinical studies or factors affecting study results
