Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Age between 10 and 18 years old
  • Nephrotic syndrome resistant to treatment
  • No history of diabetes
  • Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) of 60 ml/min/1.73m2 or higher, calculated by Schwartz formula
  • Caregivers agree to have the child participate in the study
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Uncontrolled urinary tract infection at screening
  • Blood pressure below the 5th percentile for gender, age, and height
  • Risk of dehydration or low blood volume
  • Liver disease indicated by liver enzyme levels more than twice the normal limit at screening
  • History of organ transplant, cancer, or liver disease
  • History of not following medical treatments or unwillingness to comply with the study protocol
