The goal of this clinical trial is to see the effect of vitamin D3 supplementation on cardiac autonomic nerve function in male epileptic patients with hypovitaminosis D that weather vitamin D improves heart rate variability or not. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does vitamin D improves cardiac autonomic tone in male epileptic patients? 2. Does vitamin D improves heart rate variability in male epileptic patients? It is a self control trial. Participants will: 1. undergo through baseline HRV testing 2. start to take vitamin D3 50000 IU once in a week for 8 weeks b) visit the university after 8 weeks for post interventional HRV testing . Researcher will compare the pre test and post test value of HRV testing.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosed male patients with epilepsy confirmed by neurologist, having at least two unprovoked seizures more than 24 hours apart
- Age between 20 and 40 years
- Serum vitamin D3 level below 30 ng/ml (hypovitaminosis D)
- Body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 24.9 kg/m2
- Taking enzyme-inducing antiepileptic drugs such as Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, or Phenobarbital for 6 months to 2 years
- Not taking any other medication affecting the central nervous system besides antiepileptic drugs
You will not qualify if you...
- Taking sodium valproate, oxcarbazepine, topiramate, lamotrigine, or levetiracetam
- Presence of absence seizures
- Alcohol use
- Smoking
- Use of anti-diabetic drugs, antioxidant vitamin supplements, antihypertensive drugs, anti-arrhythmic drugs, lipid-lowering medications, or sedatives
- Known hypersensitivity to vitamin D3
- History or current diagnosis of cardiovascular disorders including myocardial infarction, coronary heart disease, cardiac arrhythmia, congestive cardiac failure
- Other neurological disorders such as migraine or stroke
- Respiratory disorders including bronchial asthma or COPD
- Renal insufficiency or acute/chronic kidney disease with serum creatinine over 1.5 mg/dl
- Endocrine diseases such as diabetes mellitus or thyroid disorders
- Arthritis, specifically rheumatoid arthritis
- Liver diseases
- Neoplastic disease
- Psychiatric disorders including schizophrenia or bipolar disorder
- Current use of iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, or multivitamin supplements
- Currently practicing yoga or breathing exercises
- Hypercalcemia
