Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 18 - 45 years
- Clinical diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome
- Body mass index of 25-35 kg/m2
- Not pregnant or breastfeeding
- No current medication use except metformin
- Not planning pregnancy during the study
- No chronic inflammatory or other endocrine disorders
- No dietary supplement intake in the last 2 months
You will not qualify if you...
- Taking less than 80% of assigned astaxanthin supplements
- Currently pregnant
- Changes in usual diet, eating habits, or physical activity during the study
- Presence of skin or digestive allergies or complications from astaxanthin
- Smoking or alcohol use
