Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Be between 18 and 65 years old
- Have a clinical diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome
- Have a confirmed moderate CTS diagnosis by electromyography (EMG)
- Have typical carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms for at least 3 months
- Have not improved with splinting and rest
You will not qualify if you...
- History of polyneuropathy, brachial plexopathy, thoracic outlet syndrome, or wrist surgery
- History of inflammatory arthritis, hypothyroidism, pregnancy, rheumatologic disorders, or pacemaker use
- Current warfarin use, previous corticosteroid injection for CTS, trauma or tumor at injection site, corticosteroid allergy, or skin infection at injection site
- G6PD deficiency, hyperthyroidism, thrombocytopenia, severe cardiovascular instability, or use of ACE inhibitors
