Evaluating eDrugSafe Mobile Platform for Medication Management and Electronic Drug Labeling A Cluster Randomized Trial in Adults Taking Multiple Medications

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating a mobile web platform called eDrugSafe to see if it can help adults who take multiple medications manage their medicines better. This study focuses on whether eDrugSafe can improve medication adherence, confidence in managing medications, quality of life, and reduce hospital visits. It also aims to find out if eDrugSafe is practical and accepted for use in real community pharmacy settings. Participants will be assigned to one of two groups based on their local pharmacy. One group will use the eDrugSafe platform, which provides electronic access to medication information through QR codes linked to prescriptions. The other group will use traditional paper methods for managing their medication information. The study lasts for six months, during which participants will use their assigned methods to manage medications. During the study, participants will complete surveys at the beginning, three months, and six months to measure medication adherence and confidence in medication management. Researchers will also assess quality of life, emergency room visits, and hospitalizations after six months. The study involves adults aged 18 to 79 who take multiple medications and have access to a personal electronic device.
