What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating a home-based surface electrical stimulation (SES) program for office workers with cervical myofascial pain syndrome (MPS), a common neck pain condition linked to prolonged computer use. This study compares the effects of SES with and without telemedical support against a control group receiving no intervention to see if this accessible, time-saving treatment helps reduce pain in busy computer users. Participants are randomly assigned to one of three groups: SES combined with remote medical support, SES alone, or no intervention. The SES intervention lasts for 3 weeks, with sessions of 20 minutes each, three times per week. Remote support involves video calls with rehabilitation doctors and weekly telehealth visits for education, stretching exercises, and SES instructions. Participants will be assessed before and after the 3-week intervention and again 4 weeks later (at 8 weeks) to measure pain intensity and other outcomes. The study staff conducting assessments will not know which group participants belong to. This approach helps researchers understand the potential benefits and feasibility of home-based SES treatments for neck pain related to office work.
