Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 55 years or older
- Literate or educated above elementary school level
- Normal or corrected vision and hearing, able to communicate and understand explanations
- Right-handed as assessed by the Edinburgh Handedness Inventory
- For brain stimulation group: diagnosed with major depressive disorder by a psychiatrist and prescribed brain stimulation therapy
- Ability to cooperate with psychiatric outpatient clinic regulations
You will not qualify if you...
- Diagnosis of dementia, stroke, cerebrovascular disease, brain injury, epilepsy, or Parkinson's disease
- Presence of neurological system disorders
- Alcohol or drug dependence
- Major physical illnesses such as diabetes, heart failure, endocrine abnormalities, or recent acute myocardial infarction within past three months
- Presence of metal objects incompatible with MRI (e.g., pacemakers, vascular clips, hearing aids, artificial joints, steel pins)
- Claustrophobia
- Pregnancy or possibility of pregnancy
