Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Both sexes
- Age 18 years or older
- Isolated increase in LDL cholesterol (LDL-c 260 mg/dL)
- Isolated increase in triglycerides (TG 250 mg/dL or 275 mg/dL without fasting)
- Reduced HDL cholesterol (men < 40 mg/dL, women < 50 mg/dL) alone or with increased LDL-c or TG
- Individuals using lipid-lowering therapy (statins or non-statins)
You will not qualify if you...
- Autoimmune and infectious diseases, diabetes, cancer, or AIDS
- Pregnant women
- Use of catabolic drugs or antibiotics
- Use of anticoagulant medication
- Use of antioxidant vitamin supplements, prebiotic, probiotic, or synbiotic
- Allergic to corn or soy starch
