Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Adults 19 years and older
  • Hospitalized in the surgical or medical intensive care unit of the Seoul National University Hospital
  • Receiving enteral nutrition
  • Patients who have consented to participate in the study
  • Patients with risk factors for pancreatic exocrine dysfunction such as shock requiring norepinephrine, sepsis (3rd definition), diabetes, cardiac arrest, hyperlactatemia (serum lactate > 2 mmol/L), mechanical ventilation, or continuous renal replacement therapy
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • History of chronic pancreatitis
  • Unresectable pancreatic cancer
  • History of pancreatectomy
  • Presence of underlying diseases that may interfere with the effect of exocrine pancreatic enzyme administration, including inflammatory bowel disease and short bowel syndrome
