Effects of Pelvic Girdle Stability Training With and Without Therapeutic Taping on Trunk Control in Children With Down Syndrome

This research aims to evaluate the effects of therapeutic taping combined with pelvic girdle stability training on children with Down Syndrome aged 4 to 10 years. The study compares two groups: one receiving pelvic girdle stability training along with therapeutic taping, and the other receiving only pelvic girdle stability training. The purpose is to assess how these interventions impact trunk control and gross motor function over an 8-week period. The experimental group undergoes pelvic girdle stability training combined with therapeutic taping, where strips are applied along specific back and shoulder regions for 45 to 60 minutes per session. The control group performs pelvic girdle stability exercises without therapeutic taping, including pelvic bridge, one-leg bridge, calm exercises for gluteus medius, leg lifts in a four-point kneeling position, and arm lifts. Both groups participate in these sessions over 8 weeks. During the study, participants' progress is measured using the trunk control assessment scale and gross motor functional scale to evaluate improvements in stability and motor function. Researchers monitor trunk control at 6 weeks to assess the effectiveness of the interventions. The total study duration involves these 8-week exercise sessions with ongoing assessments to track outcomes and safety.
