Effects of Remote Ischemic Conditioning on Blood Pressure in Older Patients With Hypertension
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 65 years to 85 years, regardless of gender
- History of essential hypertension with clinical systolic blood pressure 140 mmHg or higher, regardless of antihypertensive medication use
- Willingness to participate and sign informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Secondary hypertension
- Clinical blood pressure 180/110 mmHg or higher, or 24-hour mean arterial pressure 170/100 mmHg or higher
- Severe organ dysfunction or failure
- Severe blood disorders or significant problems with blood clotting
- History of atrial fibrillation or heart attack within 6 months
- Contraindications to remote ischemic conditioning such as severe upper limb injury, fracture, vascular injury, venous thrombosis, arterial occlusive disease, or subclavian steal syndrome
- Current or past use of anticoagulant medications like dabigatran, rivaroxaban, warfarin
- Participation in other clinical research within 3 months prior to enrollment
- Other conditions deemed unsuitable by researchers
