Studying the Impact of Solution-Focused Therapy on Psychosocial Adjustment and Medication Adherence in Adults with Schizophrenia

Researchers are evaluating the effects of a solution-focused approach-based individual intervention on psychosocial adjustment and treatment adherence in people diagnosed with schizophrenia. This randomized controlled trial involves 60 clinically stable adults aged 18 to 65 with schizophrenia, registered at a university-affiliated Community Mental Health Center. The study aims to explore how this person-centered, brief therapy model may support social functioning and treatment compliance. Participants are randomly assigned to either an experimental group or a control group. The experimental group receives one individual solution-focused therapy session per week for six consecutive weeks, emphasizing strengths, positive coping, goal setting, and future-oriented solutions. The control group receives usual care without additional intervention. The intervention uses structured questions and techniques to help participants build hope and improve psychosocial adjustment. During the study, data is collected before and after the intervention using the Psychosocial Adjustment Scale and the Medication Adherence Scale. Participants complete a personal information form and engage in individual interviews. Researchers will analyze changes in psychosocial adaptation and medication adherence. The study includes baseline measurements within one week before intervention and follow-up assessments six weeks after completing the sessions.
