Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes by a physician
- Age 18 years or older
- Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) test value between 7.5% and 9.0%
- Not currently using oral diabetic medications, insulin, or glucagon-like peptide-1 at outpatient admission
- Not pregnant during the study period
- Agree to participate after being informed about the study purpose
- Conscious and able to take care of themselves
- No diagnosis of mental illness according to DSM-IV
- Able to communicate in Mandarin and Taiwanese
You will not qualify if you...
- Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes by a physician
- Under 18 years old
- Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) test value less than 7.5% or greater than 9.0%
- Currently using oral diabetic medications, insulin, or glucagon-like peptide-1 at outpatient admission
- Pregnant during the study period
- Unable to take care of themselves or express themselves
