Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Meet the American Urological Association diagnostic criteria for adult overactive bladder disorder (non-neurogenic) and the Chinese Urological Association's guidelines for OAB
  • Female patients aged 18 to 75 years
  • Overactive bladder lasting at least 3 months
  • Overactive Bladder Symptom Score between 3 and 11
  • Normal routine urine tests
  • No previous acupuncture treatment
  • No mental or intellectual disabilities and able to understand and complete assessments
  • Provide written informed consent
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Serious heart, liver, kidney diseases or severe liver or kidney insufficiency
  • Pelvic organ prolapse of degree 2 or higher, history of urinary or pelvic floor surgery
  • Other diseases causing OAB symptoms
  • Urinary diseases like bladder stones or tuberculosis, malignant tumors, neurological disorders
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women
  • Use of medications affecting bladder function within 1 month prior or behavioral therapy for OAB within 3 months prior to enrollment
  • Presence of pacemakers
  • Blood diseases, diabetes, or mental illnesses
  • Skin infections, ulcers, abscesses at acupuncture sites, metal allergy, or extreme needle phobia
  • Participation in other clinical trials within the last month
