Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Meet the American Urological Association diagnostic criteria for adult overactive bladder disorder (non-neurogenic) and the Chinese Urological Association's guidelines for OAB
- Female patients aged 18 to 75 years
- Overactive bladder lasting at least 3 months
- Overactive Bladder Symptom Score between 3 and 11
- Normal routine urine tests
- No previous acupuncture treatment
- No mental or intellectual disabilities and able to understand and complete assessments
- Provide written informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Serious heart, liver, kidney diseases or severe liver or kidney insufficiency
- Pelvic organ prolapse of degree 2 or higher, history of urinary or pelvic floor surgery
- Other diseases causing OAB symptoms
- Urinary diseases like bladder stones or tuberculosis, malignant tumors, neurological disorders
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- Use of medications affecting bladder function within 1 month prior or behavioral therapy for OAB within 3 months prior to enrollment
- Presence of pacemakers
- Blood diseases, diabetes, or mental illnesses
- Skin infections, ulcers, abscesses at acupuncture sites, metal allergy, or extreme needle phobia
- Participation in other clinical trials within the last month
