Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Aged between 18 and 50, both genders are welcome.
- Meets DSM-5 criteria for obsessive-compulsive disorder.
- Y-BOCS total score of 20 or higher despite therapeutic-dose SRI treatment or completion of at least one full course of CBT.
- Stable treatment regimen for at least 8 weeks prior to enrollment and unchanged during the study.
- More than 9 years of education.
- Right-handed.
You will not qualify if you...
- Any current psychiatric comorbidity except obsessive-compulsive personality disorder.
- Severe obsessive symptoms preventing completion of necessary assessments.
- History of receiving electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
- Received repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) or transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) within the past two months.
- Severe physical illnesses or conditions that can cause epilepsy or intracranial hypertension, including cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
- History of neurological disorders (such as epilepsy, cerebrovascular accidents) or brain injuries, or brain surgery.
- Presence of implanted medical devices such as intracranial stents, cardiac pacemakers, coronary stents, cochlear implants.
- Serious suicide risk.
- Pregnancy or nursing an infant.
