The Efficacy of Transcutaneous Pulsed Radiofrequency Acupuncture for Knee Osteoarthritis
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age from 45 to 85 years with knee pain for more than six months
- Meet clinical and radiographic criteria for knee osteoarthritis with Kellgren and Lawrence score of 2 or greater
- Pain score above 3 on a 0-10 visual analog scale
- Able to participate in 4 weeks of treatment and 3 months of follow-up
You will not qualify if you...
- Knee osteoarthritis with infection, inflammation, autoimmune disease, or fracture
- History or condition affecting posture and balance such as malignancy, dizziness, vertigo, or stroke
- Previous knee surgery or internal fixation
- Pregnant or planning pregnancy
- Received other knee osteoarthritis treatment in the past 3 months
- History of epilepsy or implanted electronic devices
- Active infection at the stimulator contact site
- Lack of informed consent
- Any other reason likely to prevent completing the trial
