What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating how well college students stick to good oral health habits and are testing whether an educational program based on the Expanded Health Belief Model EHBM can improve these behaviors. This study focuses on preventing poor oral health by targeting beliefs about dental disease risks and the benefits of preventive actions. Prior research shows that EHBM-based education can significantly increase brushing, flossing, and dental check-up rates among students and other populations. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The intervention group will attend awareness lectures focused on oral health using the EHBM framework, aiming to promote better dental habits. The control group will receive general college health education without any structured behavioral program. The study will include male and female undergraduate students aged 18 to 25 years. During the study, participants oral health behaviors will be assessed over six months using an Oral Health Behavior Score. Researchers will evaluate changes in tooth brushing, flossing, and dental check-up habits. Participants will be monitored for adherence to the program, and data collection will help determine the effectiveness of the EHBM-based intervention. The total study duration extends from initial enrollment through the primary outcome measurement at six months.
