Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Age 18 years or older
  • Can be treated between 4.5-6 hours after symptom onset (symptom onset defined by "last seen normal" principle)
  • Presenting with ischemic stroke symptoms
  • Pre-stroke modified Rankin Scale score of 0-1
  • Baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score 5 or higher
  • Eligible for endovascular thrombectomy
  • Signed informed consent
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score less than 5
  • Unable to undergo MRI due to claustrophobia
  • Presence of cardiac pacemaker, brain pacemaker, or insulin pump
  • Definite contraindication for endovascular thrombectomy
  • Postictal hemiparesis (Todd's paralysis) or neurological/psychiatric conditions preventing cooperation
  • Pregnant women, nursing mothers, or unwillingness to use effective contraception during the trial
  • Participation in other interventional randomized clinical trials within 3 months before enrollment
  • Deemed unsuitable for participation or at greater risk by the investigator
