Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 18 years or older
- Arrival at the emergency department between 4.5 and 6 hours after stroke symptom onset
- Presenting with ischemic stroke symptoms
- Pre-stroke modified Rankin Scale score of 0 to 1
- Baseline NIH Stroke Scale score of 5 or higher
- Eligible for endovascular thrombectomy treatment
- Signed informed consent provided
You will not qualify if you...
- Baseline NIH Stroke Scale score less than 5
- Unable to undergo MRI due to claustrophobia
- Presence of cardiac pacemaker, brain pacemaker, or insulin pump
- Definite contraindication for endovascular thrombectomy
- Postictal hemiparesis (Todd's paralysis) or other neurological/psychiatric conditions preventing cooperation
- Pregnant or nursing women, or unwillingness to use effective contraception during the trial
- Participation in other interventional randomized clinical trials within the last 3 months
- Investigator judgment deeming participant unsuitable or at greater risk from participation
