Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Age 18 years or older
  • Arrival at the emergency department between 4.5 and 6 hours after stroke symptom onset
  • Presenting with ischemic stroke symptoms
  • Pre-stroke modified Rankin Scale score of 0 to 1
  • Baseline NIH Stroke Scale score of 5 or higher
  • Eligible for endovascular thrombectomy treatment
  • Signed informed consent provided
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Baseline NIH Stroke Scale score less than 5
  • Unable to undergo MRI due to claustrophobia
  • Presence of cardiac pacemaker, brain pacemaker, or insulin pump
  • Definite contraindication for endovascular thrombectomy
  • Postictal hemiparesis (Todd's paralysis) or other neurological/psychiatric conditions preventing cooperation
  • Pregnant or nursing women, or unwillingness to use effective contraception during the trial
  • Participation in other interventional randomized clinical trials within the last 3 months
  • Investigator judgment deeming participant unsuitable or at greater risk from participation
