Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age above 18
- Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor confirmed by endoscopic ultrasound fine needle biopsy, WHO Grade 1-2
- Tumor size 2-3 cm with Ki-67 <5%, or tumor smaller than 2 cm with Ki-67 <10% showing progression, or tumor 1.5-2 cm with Ki-67 <10% in patients younger than 60 years
- Tumor at least 2 mm away from the main pancreatic duct, or closer with a prophylactic pancreatic duct stent
- Good general health with ECOG performance status 0-2
- Signed written informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Pregnancy
- Life expectancy less than 1 year
- Severe bleeding disorders
- Dilation of pancreatic or biliary ducts
- Active pancreatitis
- Metastatic disease including local lymph node involvement
- Use of anticoagulants that cannot be stopped
- INR greater than 1.5 or platelet count below 50,000
- Tumor less than 1 mm from the main pancreatic duct without possibility of stent placement
- Ongoing treatment or progression of another malignant lesion
