Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Spinal cord injury classified as ASIA A, B, C, or D
- Between 20 and 70 years of age
- At least 1 year post spinal cord injury
- Complete or incomplete spinal cord injury
- Planning to undergo spinal cord stimulation surgery
- Willing to continue rehabilitation after surgery
- Able to follow procedures and attend follow-up visits
- Medically stable without cardiopulmonary disease or dysautonomia that limits lower limb rehabilitation or testing
You will not qualify if you...
- Significant cognitive impairment (MMSE score less than 24)
- Mental illness within the past year or previous treatment for mental illness
- Diagnosis of major depressive disorder
- Active cancer diagnosis
- Painful musculoskeletal dysfunction, unhealed fractures, contractures, pressure sores, or urinary tract infections that interfere with standing or step training
- Cardiovascular or musculoskeletal conditions preventing full participation in physical therapy
- Unable to read or understand the consent form
- Declines or has concerns about participating in the trial
