Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Male or female participants aged 18 years or older
- Patients with early upper gastrointestinal cancer referred for endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), or patients with upper gastrointestinal precancerous lesions or precancerous conditions referred for biopsy by esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
- Participants willing and able to participate, complete all required exams and follow-ups, and provide written informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Patients not eligible for surgery or who refuse abdominal surgery in case of capsule retention and endoscopic retrieval failure
- Patients with cardiac pacemaker or other implanted electromedical devices interfering with magnetic resonance
- Suspected or known intestinal stenosis or other risk factors for capsule retention
- Patients with dysphagia
- Pregnancy
- Allergy to polymeric materials, latex, simethicone, or pronase
- Patients planning magnetic resonance imaging before excretion of the capsule
- Any condition that precludes compliance with the study
