Development of a Monocentric and Prospective Clinical and Biological Database in Sarcoma

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are creating a clinical and biological database focused on sarcoma, a type of soft tissue tumor, to improve scientific knowledge and aid development of new cancer treatments. This project includes study of specific liposarcoma subtypes characterized by amplification of the Mdm2 gene, which plays a role in tumor development and has been challenging to target in past clinical trials. The database will support ongoing research on liposarcomas and other sarcoma types. All patients in the study provide paraffin tissue samples collected during surgery from both tumor and normal tissues. Blood samples are collected at multiple times: before surgery, one month post-surgery, and before radiotherapy when applicable. Clinical data are standardized and entered into the database alongside biological samples. This combined collection enables detailed study of sarcoma biology and treatment effects. Participants provide tissue and blood samples and have clinical data recorded. Blood samples support projects on Mdm2, circulating DNA, and radiotherapy toxicity. The primary outcome is establishing a comprehensive clinical and biological database available for research over a five-year period. The study includes ongoing data collection and sample analysis to enhance understanding of sarcoma and support future research.
