To Evaluate the Therapeutic Effect of Laser Acupuncture in Patients With Acute or Subacute Post Stroke Shoulder Pain
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 20 years or older
- Normal consciousness before and after stroke, able to respond and complete questionnaires
- Subacute (7 days to 6 months) or chronic (more than 6 months) post-stroke shoulder pain during recovery
- Has stopped taking painkillers for more than 1 day
- No intramuscular injections (steroids, botulinum toxin, glucose, etc.) in or around the affected shoulder for more than 2 weeks
- Willing to sign written consent form
You will not qualify if you...
- Shoulder pain symptoms present before the stroke
- Recent acute shoulder injury on the affected side
- Previous surgery on the affected shoulder
- Unable to complete assessments due to aphasia, post-stroke depression, or clear cognitive impairment
- Pregnant or planning pregnancy
- History of epilepsy and currently on anti-epileptic medication
- Currently using herbal or folk remedies for shoulder pain
- Any condition deemed unsuitable by the study physician
- Has not signed the written consent form
