Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age less than 18 years old
- Clinical diagnosis of head trauma with Glasgow Coma Scale score less than or equal to 13
- Presence of intracranial hemorrhage confirmed by cranial CT scan
- Admission to hospital within 3 hours of injury
You will not qualify if you...
- Known pregnancy
- Cardiac arrest prior to randomization
- Glasgow Coma Scale score of 3 with unresponsive pupils on both sides
- Known bleeding or clotting disorders
- Known seizure disorders
- Severe kidney impairment
- Unknown time of injury
- Prior use of tranexamic acid for current injury
- Known venous or arterial blood clots
