This is a parallel randomized controlled trial for the treatment of dry eye disease. The main objective is to investigate the efficacy and safety of the use of insulin eye drops in the control of moderate-severe dry eye disease. Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients with Schirmer's test less than 10mm after 5 minutes and tear breakup time less than 10 seconds
- Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) score greater than 32 indicating dry eye disease
- Any gender
- Age 18 years and older
You will not qualify if you...
- Active ocular infection or severe ocular surface disease other than dry eye disease
- Eye surgery within the past 6 months
- Under 18 years old
