Study of Effectiveness and Safety of Various Drug-Eluting Stents for Coronary Artery Disease in Everyday Clinical Use

This research evaluates the effectiveness and safety of new drug-eluting stents DES compared with first-, second-, third-, and fourth-generation DES in everyday clinical practice. It focuses on patients with coronary artery disease who receive percutaneous coronary intervention PCI using these stents without mixing different types. The study aims to reflect real-world conditions and outcomes across multiple stent types. Participants receive one of several types of drug-eluting stents, including many named varieties such as CYPHER, Xience, GENOUS, PROMUS-ELEMENT, and others. The study observes the use of these stents consecutively without mixing different DES in the same patient, including some cases with bioresorbable vascular scaffolds. Treatment follows routine PCI procedures using the assigned stent. During the study, participants are followed to monitor outcomes including death, nonfatal heart attacks, and ischemic-driven target vessel revascularization at 12 months after the procedure. Additional outcomes like stroke, stent thrombosis, and procedural success are tracked at 12 months and annually up to five years. This long-term observation helps assess safety and effectiveness in real-world clinical settings.
