Researchers are studying the impact of specialized case managers on young people aged 16 to 30 who are experiencing their first psychotic episode. The goal is to improve care by providing personalized support, education about the illness and treatments, family involvement, and help with social and work reintegration. This study compares this case management approach to the usual care system and aims to reduce the rate of psychotic episode recurrence over three years. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive regular, personalized follow-up from a trained case manager updated every three months or continue with standard care without this intervention. The study is open-label with blinded evaluation and takes place across multiple centers. The intervention focuses on early, proactive support according to good practice guidelines. During the three-year study period, participants will have assessments every six months that include psychiatric evaluations, monitoring of hospitalizations, adherence to treatment, social and occupational functioning, quality of life, and any adverse events. Researchers will track the number and type of psychotic recurrences, hospital admissions, treatment compliance, and overall socio-professional functioning. The study includes detailed clinical and laboratory assessments to understand the effects of the intervention over time.
