AI-Summary

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the effects of daily consumption of milk polar lipids MPLs on cardiometabolic risk factors in adults with dyslipidemia and abdominal obesity. This randomized, double-blind, controlled study aims to assess how MPLs influence serum lipid levels, inflammation markers, lipoprotein metabolism, and gut health in this population. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups one consuming a dairy beverage rich in MPLs containing 6.5 g of MPL daily, and a control group consuming a dairy beverage with less than 0.1 g of MPL daily. Both groups will follow this regimen for 8 weeks. The study evaluates four key objectives including effects on serum lipids, inflammation, lipoprotein particle features, and gut microbiota and permeability. During the study, participants will have their serum LDL cholesterol measured at baseline and after 8 weeks to assess changes. Researchers will also monitor systemic biomarkers of inflammation, lipoprotein characteristics, and gut-related markers. The study includes careful monitoring of adherence and safety, with the entire participation lasting 8 weeks of intervention.
