Hip microinstability causes pain and reduced function in young, active people due to unusual hip movement. This condition may be linked to factors like acetabular dysplasia, connective tissue disorders, trauma, or unknown causes. Researchers are studying how non-surgical and surgical treatments affect hip function and side effects in people with this condition. Participants first undergo six months of physiotherapy focused on stabilizing the hip joint. If this non-surgical approach does not improve symptoms, they will have a diagnostic hip arthroscopy. If microinstability is confirmed during surgery, an arthroscopic plication of the hip joint capsule is performed. The study tracks changes after both types of treatment. Throughout the study, participants complete patient-reported outcome scores, strength, and function tests at the start and at 6, 12, and 24 months after treatment. Researchers measure hip function using tools like iHOT-12 and HAGOS, along with muscle strength and hop performance. They also evaluate quality of life, sports activity level, satisfaction with treatment, and any adverse events over two years.

Duration - 6 months
Participants undergo six months of physiotherapy aimed at stabilizing the hip joint.
Visits as part of physiotherapy over 6 months
Duration - Up to 1 month
Participants who do not improve with physiotherapy undergo arthroscopic plication of the hip joint capsule.
1 surgical procedure and approximately 6 post-operative visits
Duration - Up to 24 months post-treatment
Participants are evaluated with patient-reported outcome scores and strength and function tests at multiple time points after treatment.
