What this Trial Is About
Twenty posterior maxillary edentulous sites requiring open sinus augmentation for staged dental implant placement will be studied. Group I (study group) the maxillary sinus membrane will be elevated using titanium mesh fixed by bone screws. Group II (control group) will have stainless steel screws/pins placed bucco-palatally to maintain the elevated membrane and stabilize the formed blood clot. Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) will be placed at the site of elevated membrane in both groups.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adult male or female patients aged 18 to 60 years
- One or more teeth needing implant-supported dental restoration in the upper jaw
- Alveolar bone height less than 5 mm at the site needing augmentation
- Good oral hygiene
- Patient agrees to participate in the study
You will not qualify if you...
- Medical conditions that prevent surgery, such as uncontrolled diabetes or recent chemotherapy
- Active infection at or near the surgery site, including acute sinusitis
- Heavy smoking
- Not suitable for implant-supported restoration at enrollment, such as untreated periodontal disease
- Development of medical conditions during the study that affect outcomes
