Age: 18Years - 85Years
All Genders

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Non-specific chronic low back pain lasting at least 3 months with pain on at least half of the days in the past 6 months
  • Age between 18 and 85 years
  • Self-identify as non-Hispanic and as either Black/African American or White/Caucasian
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Low back pain caused by ankylosing spondylitis, infection, malignancy, compression fracture, or trauma
  • Presence of systemic rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, or fibromyalgia
  • Any other chronic pain condition considered more severe than the low back pain
  • History of significant lower back surgery within the past year
  • Uncontrolled hypertension (systolic/diastolic blood pressure over 150/95), cardiovascular or peripheral arterial disease
  • Poorly controlled diabetes (HbA1c over 8%)
  • Neurological diseases like Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, or epilepsy
  • Serious psychiatric disorder requiring hospitalization in the past 12 months or active suicidal ideation
  • Reduced cognitive function interfering with understanding study procedures
