This clinical trial studies how well an exercise program (Totally Excited About Moving, Mobility, and Exercise \[TEAM Me\]) affects the exercise and dietary habits of pediatric and adolescents and young adults with cancer undergoing a blood stem cell transplant. Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Be admitted to an inpatient pediatric ward for hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) for cancer treatment
- Be between 6 and 29 years old
- Participant or guardian willing and able to give written informed consent before or within 48 hours of admission
- Participant or guardian willing and able to consent to the companion protocol involving Fitbit application
You will not qualify if you...
- Clinical condition prevents any physical activity, including respiratory issues, needing high flow oxygen, low blood pressure, or active bleeding
- Patients admitted to adult units for HSCT at MD Anderson are not eligible because TEAM Me is only on the pediatric unit
