Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Men with metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma
  • Currently taking androgen deprivation therapy alone or with oral androgen axis inhibitors for at least 3 months
  • Elevated PSA greater than 1 ng/mL or rising PSA based on at least 2 readings at least 2 weeks apart
  • Any number of prior cancer therapies allowed
  • Positive circulating tumor cells (CTC+) by standard lab test
  • Bone protective agents started at least 2 weeks before exercise intervention if needed
  • Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status 0 or 1
  • Cardiologist clearance if under cardiology care within past year
  • Age 80 years or younger
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Small cell carcinoma of the prostate
  • Unable to participate or monitor exercise due to conditions like impaired cognition
  • Moderate to severe bone pain limiting daily activities or requiring narcotics
  • Clinical progression needing change in systemic therapy or palliative radiation
  • Bone metastases in spine or long bones requiring surgery or radiation due to fracture risk
  • Significant cardiovascular disease or illness making 12 weeks of exercise unsafe without cardiologist approval
  • Major surgery within the past 4 weeks
