Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Healthy volunteers with no Parkinson's disease diagnosis
- Parkinson's disease patients treated with levodopa
- Parkinson's disease patients treated with deep brain stimulation (DBS)
You will not qualify if you...
- Known other neurological or medical disorders affecting pain (e.g., stroke, neuropathy, diabetes)
- Known dementia (MoCA score less than 24)
- Known untreated depression (Beck Depression Inventory score 15 or higher)
- Unable to cooperate with study procedures
- Treated with painkillers other than paracetamol and NSAIDs unless pain and treatment are stable as evaluated by a doctor
