Age: 21Years - 90Years

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Age between 21 and 90 years
  • History of unilateral stroke at least 6 months before enrollment
  • Stroke involving the corticospinal tract confirmed by MRI or CT
  • Hemiparesis affecting the lower extremity as measured by Fugl-Meyer LE motor test
  • No passive range of motion limitations in both hips and knees
  • Ankle passive dorsiflexion limited to 10 degrees or less
  • Visual acuity correctable to 20/20 with glasses or contacts
  • Ability to walk independently with or without assistive devices for 10 meters
  • Ability to stand without assistance for more than 30 seconds
  • Mini-mental status examination score of 24 or higher
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Pregnant women
  • MRI or CT showing damage to basal ganglia, cerebellum, multiple lesions, other brain damage, malignant tumors
  • Presence of metal implants, cardiac pacemakers, or history of seizures
  • Ongoing orthopedic or neuromuscular disorders restricting exercise training
  • Vestibular dysfunction or unstable angina
  • Significant cognitive deficits preventing following a 2-step command or severe aphasia
