Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Aged 20 to 85 years old
- For CKD patients: eGFR less than 90 ml/min/1.73 m2 for over 3 months
- Stable condition without worsening in the past 3 months (for CKD patients)
- Ability to understand and follow verbal commands and cooperate with exercise training
You will not qualify if you...
- Severe uncontrolled metabolic diseases (e.g., hyperthyroidism, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia)
- Severe pulmonary or cardiovascular diseases (e.g., pulmonary hypertension, COPD, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia)
- Presence of a cardiac pacemaker or history of myocardial infarction within past 6 months
- Severe musculoskeletal or neuromuscular disorders (e.g., advanced arthritis, limb amputation, post-polio syndrome, Parkinson's disease)
- Unstable vital signs (systolic blood pressure ≥180 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg, requiring vasopressors, or resting heart rate >100 bpm)
- Prone to bruising
- Recent infection less than 1 month ago
- Pregnancy
- Kidney function impairment (for healthy participants)
- Cancer
- Simultaneous participation in other research
- Abnormal blood biochemical parameters (e.g., low white blood cell count, low hemoglobin, high bilirubin, elevated liver enzymes, low platelet count) (for CKD patients)
- Sensory or motor dysfunction affecting walking ability (for CKD patients)
- Diagnosed systemic diseases under ongoing treatment (e.g., systemic lupus erythematosus, cancer, malignancies) (for CKD patients)
