Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Male or female aged 18 to 85 years with diagnosed lung disease including asthma, emphysema, COPD, bronchiectasis, sarcoidosis, pulmonary fibrosis, alpha 1-anti-trypsin deficiency, eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis, or bronchopulmonary dysplasia
  • Understands the study procedures and agrees to participate with informed consent
  • Judged to be in stable health based on medical history
  • Able to read and/or understand English
  • For healthy volunteers: male or female aged 18 to 85 years with no current or previous history of respiratory infection or disease
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Age under 18 years or over 85 years
  • Pregnancy before or during the study
  • Mentally or legally incapacitated individuals unable to provide informed consent or understand written materials
  • Unable to perform spirometry or plethysmography tests
  • Presence of implanted mechanical, electrical, or magnetic devices or metal in the body that cannot be removed, such as pacemakers or aneurysm clips
  • Physical or psychological conditions preventing MRI, including severe claustrophobia
  • For healthy volunteers: current or former smokers with 10 or more pack-years, or any history of respiratory infection or disease
